Patrice Tochon
Can you briefly introduce yourself and your role within the HYDREAMS project?
I am Patrice Tochon, Director of Research and Strategy at GENVIA. In the HYDREAMS project, I am responsible for investigating the possibility of deploying a Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cells (SOEC) technology in UGITECH plant in order to produce green H2 with high efficiency due to the thermal coupling between electrolyzer and steel plant.
How does the collaboration within HYDREAMS align with your company’s sustainability goals?
As an Electrolyzer manufacturer, GENVIA is deeply committed to industry decarbonization. And thus, HYDREAMS project provides us a perfect use case for future deployment of our technology.
What excites you most about the HYDREAMS project and its mission?
The demonstration of the ability for H2 to contribute to steel production decarbonization. In particular; the study of the heat coupling between SOEC and waste heat from steel plant is particularly interesting, and could be replicated in the future
