Our direct customers include bar drawing mills, peeling plants, wire drawing mills, machining and cold forming companies as well as forges. Manufacturers of products for construction and mining are also among our clientele.
Our quality process spans steel and rolling mill and considers the entire production chain of our products. We are also bound to the IATF automotive standard. Production processes, in-process testing, data recording and analyses are managed optimally. Our quality assurance starts with selecting the source materials from scrap to alloying agents. It extends to delivery of products to our customers. This is how we recognize deviations early on and can address them rapidly. Along the entire chain of production, we ensure documentation and analysis of product quality and guarantee seamless traceability. Our accredited testing laboratory, accredited by the Swiss Accreditation Service (SAS), also plays an important role in this context.
Our effective and efficient integrated management system (IMS) is based on the IATF 16949 as well as ISO 9001 quality standards and combines the aspects quality and environment management, work safety, health, energy as well as risk management. It takes the specifications of international standards and internal guidelines of the Swiss Steel Group into account.
IMS has been implemented in all corporate divisions and processes. A corporate policy derived from the strategic orientation is our guideline in the process. Based on the corporate policy, we define strategic and operative goals and track their practical implementation. Legal and standard requirements are regularly reviewed and are part of an assessment of the system's effectiveness. Our management system is constantly being optimized and adapted as a leadership instrument.

In our contract business division, we take on a wide range of tasks. We accordingly focus our production on high processing capabilities. This includes pre-fabricated short lengths, weight-related forgings and semi-finished products that we manufacture specifically to customer request and specification. Our heat treatment is in particular specialized in producing high strength grades. Steeltec is also an expert in quenching and tempering piping. The electric arc furnace slag (EAF slag) produced during the manufacture of unalloyed and low-alloy steel is very similar to the mineral concrete waste of concrete demolition in regard to their chemical and construction properties. As a granulated material, it is of particular interest for use in subbases and bases for road beds or for base plates.
The use of EAF slag as a recycled building material is explicitly permitted but is subject to certain criteria.
